Electrophysical Generation of Pulse and Plateau Potentials in Noctiluca

چکیده
This paper presents electrophysical potential generation in noctiluca. Dynamic modelling is composed of three electrical zones and two depletion layers (liquid junctions) induced in cytoplasm. Stimulussensitive and voltage-dependent ion channels are settled at the membrane around cytopharynx and tentacle. Equivalent circuits of activity are given by an input forward diode and an output reverse diode with current source to drive output resistance. These diodes correspond to the first and the second depletion layers. Typical potential outputs are featured by pulse and plateau with bipolar (positive and negative) potentials defined by Na+ and Cl− ion channels driven by the first and the second messengers. Outputs of pulse and plateau with positive and negative potentials are realized by this model. Key-Words: Noctiluca, electrophysical activity, depletion layer (liquid junction), Na+ and Clion channels, pulse and plateau with positive and negative potentials, the first and the second messengers, motions of tentacle.

متن کاملAdvanced Model and Analysis of Electrophysical Activities in Neurons for Pulse and Plateau Potentials
This paper presents model and analysis of electrophysical activities in neurons corresponding to pulse and plateau potentials. When the inner (cytoplasm) potential grows up beyond zero potential (in the external liquid), positive ions cannot flow anymore into the cytoplasm. So effective knowledge of excitation was not provided by the conventional Hodgkin Huxley model. This paper first presents ...
متن کاملExcitatory postsynaptic potentials trigger a plateau potential in rat subthalamic neurons at hyperpolarized states.
The subthalamic nucleus (STN) directly innervates the output structures of the basal ganglia, playing a key role in basal ganglia function. It is therefore important to understand the regulatory mechanisms for the activity of STN neurons. In the present study, we aimed to investigate how the intrinsic membrane properties of STN neurons interact with their synaptic inputs, focusing on their gene...
متن کاملShort Communication Distribution of Ion Channels in the Membrane of the Dinoflagellate Noctiluca Miliaris
Noctiluca miliaris, a marine dinoflagellate, exhibits spontaneous flexion of its tentacle. The movement of the tentacle is always accompanied by perturbations of membrane potential, termed the 'tentacle regulating potentials' (TRPs) (Eckert and Sibaoka, 1967). Though the waveform of the TRPs is liable to variation, it consists of four successive basic components: (1) a Na-dependent depolarizing...
متن کاملGeneration of High Order Harmonics from H2+ Molecule Ion by Using Homogenous and Inhomogeneous Laser Fields
We solved one dimensional Schrodinger equation in a H2+ molecular environment by using 3 femtosecond homogeneous and nonhomogeneous laser fields. In homogeneous case, we found out that larger inter nuclear distances result in earlier ionization and also more instability in the wave packet. We deducted that the more the instability is, the more modulated the power spectrum will be. So, by choosi...
